Wanda Regina Hutchinson, an esteemed alum of Rancocas Valley Regional High School’s Class of 1986 and a dedicated advocate for disabled adults, passed away suddenly on September 14, 2024. She was 56 years old.
Born on July 11, 1968, to Win Irwin Hutchinson Sr. and Clara Delores (Patasaw) Hutchinson, Wanda was the sixth child in her family. Known for her vibrant personality from a young age, she often engaged in adventurous activities like playing contact football with neighborhood boys and climbing trees, showcasing her fearless spirit.
During her teenage years, Wanda’s curiosity and zest for life were evident. While she occasionally tested the patience of her teachers, her entrepreneurial spirit shone through with her newspaper delivery route and snow-shoveling business. These early ventures were a testament to her leadership and business acumen, qualities that she carried throughout her life.
Wanda graduated from Rancocas Valley in 1986, where she excelled in sports, particularly baseball. After high school, she explored various career paths before dedicating herself to working with individuals facing challenges, a role that perfectly matched her compassionate nature.
Her love for family was profound, especially for her cousins and nephews, for whom she often organized memorable sleepovers. Wanda’s generosity extended beyond her family; she anonymously donated to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in gratitude for their care of her nephews.
A passionate San Francisco 49ers fan and an avid dog lover, Wanda enjoyed gardening, cooking, and embarking on new adventures. One of her most cherished experiences was a solo trip to Alaska, where she forged lifelong friendships. Despite facing personal struggles, Wanda remained steadfast in her faith and determination.
