Middleburg, NC – Terry Scott Price, a beloved member of the community and founder of Middleburg Garage Door, passed away at his home on September 27, 2024.
He was surrounded by his daughter and his loyal companion “mini jr” with classic rock music playing, a testament to his love for music and life’s simple pleasures.
Born on November 29, 1960, Terry lived a life of generosity, compassion, and unwavering kindness, touching the lives of many in both Middleburg, NC, and Columbia, VA.
Terry was known for his self-described “redneck hippie” lifestyle, often emphasizing simplicity and rejecting the burdens of worry.
A hardworking man, Terry took pride in his work, founding Middleburg Garage Door after years of working for others, always remembering the locations of every service call he made.
He was known for his open-door policy, welcoming anyone in need and making sure there was always food on the table—both for people and animals, especially dogs, which he deeply loved.
Terry’s passing follows an unconventional life filled with adventure, from hitchhiking across the country in his youth to sharing stories of his travels and his passion for “good” music, especially from The Eagles and The Grateful Dead.
His love for music and history made him a memorable figure in the local community.
A memorial fundraiser has been organized by Aimee Bader to help with funeral costs.
Friends and family have expressed their condolences, with Julie Moore asking for support on social media.
Blake Brown, Jennifer Cufalo, and others have also contributed to the fundraiser, showing how deeply Terry was loved by those who knew him.
Terry’s legacy of kindness, generosity, and his creation of the game “That’s you for the day” will live on, cherished by those whose lives he touched.
