Mary Jewel Odom, a cherished member of the Elba, Alabama community, has passed away at the age of 85. Odom died peacefully at her home on Sunday, September 22, 2024. Hayes Funeral Home has confirmed that arrangements for her funeral will be announced once finalized.
Odom was a well-loved figure in her community, remembered for her kindness and generosity. Her impact on those around her was evident in the outpouring of grief and condolences shared on social media.
“Miss Jewel was always so kind to me and fed me anytime I was hungry while on duty during my time in Elba. She was a sweet lady and will be missed by many. Breakfast at Juliettes was always a good time because of her,” commented Chase Rogers.
Another community member, Pamela Driggers Jordan, expressed her sorrow, stating, “So sorry to hear this. Prayers for all.” Many others offered their prayers and sympathies for the family during this difficult time.
