Mount Clemens, Michigan – Martin Lee Flemming, a resident of Mount Clemens, passed away on Sunday at the age of 33. He died at McLaren Macomb Hospital, surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, on October 29, 1990, Martin was well-known in his community and leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication to his family and friends.
Martin married Echo Marie Sackett in Howell, Michigan, on September 16, 2022, and the couple had been together for 12 years. Known for his love of football and his passion for spending time with family, Martin was a devoted husband and a cherished member of his community. He worked at Central Transport, where he was in charge of managing shifts.
He is survived by his wife, Echo, and their dog, Honey. He also leaves behind his mother, Susan Flemming; his brothers, Matthew (Kristina) Flemming and Michael (Kelly) Flemming; and his sister, Rebecca (Steve) Smith. Additionally, Martin was a beloved uncle to his nieces and nephews, Elliott, Elaina, Lucas, Easton, and Lilah. His grandmother, Patricia (Tom) Rich, also survives him. Martin’s father, George, passed away earlier this year on July 16, 2024.
He was predeceased by his grandfather, Richard Flemming, and his grandparents, John and Elaine Simun. The family is deeply saddened by this loss and is comforted by the outpouring of support from the community.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home in Mount Clemens. A funeral service will take place at the same location on Friday at 11:00 a.m., followed by his burial at Clinton Grove Cemetery in Clinton Township.
On social media, friends and family have shared their condolences and memories of Martin. Dustin Arnold posted, “Sad day. Rest easy Martin Flemming…” Matthew-Sue Safranek expressed their sorrow, saying, “Sorry to hear this today, love you Dustin.” Kathy Spiels shared, “No way! I’m so sorry!!” Tim Crosby and Kaitlin Willinger both expressed their shock and sympathy, with Kaitlin adding, “I’m so sorry Dustin. My thoughts and prayers are with you.”
