Irvona, Pennsylvania – Kina Marie Holes Sims, a cherished mother and resilient survivor, passed away on September 29, 2024, after a long battle with Huntington’s Disease.
Her passing marks the end of a courageous journey that touched many lives.
Kina, a 17-year breast cancer survivor, overcame numerous hardships throughout her life, including a severe car accident where her resilience amazed medical professionals.
Despite the challenges, she was described by her family as happy, loving, and full of laughter.
Her daughter, Melissa Holes, organized a fundraiser in her honor, sharing memories of Kina’s strength and kindness.
She recalled a touching moment when Kina was asked about her fear of dying, to which she responded, "Nope, I’ve been eager all my life to meet the man who created me."
Kina is remembered as a devoted mother who raised not only her children but also extended her love to their friends.
Following her passing, she will be cremated, and her family hopes to hold a memorial service where her ashes will be laid to rest alongside her late husband, who passed in July 2020.
The Holes family expressed gratitude for the support they’ve received during this difficult time.
