Kotnak Jangu, a revered figure known for his invaluable contributions to the preservation and promotion of the Gondi language and the Gunjala Gondi script, has passed away at the age of 90. He died at his home in Gunjala village, Adilabad district, on Sunday, September 22, 2024, following a brief illness related to age.
Jangu’s dedication to the Gondi culture has left an indelible mark on the community. “Very sad. End of an era. Om Shanti,” commented Sivakumar Venkata Pochemcharla, reflecting the sentiments of many who mourn his loss. Other tributes echoed similar themes of respect and sorrow, with Moses Susairaj stating, “Rest in peace,” and Chandrahas Singh simply saying, “Rip.”
