Former US Navy Chief Warrant Officer Michael Wayne Litaker Passes Away at 82, Remembered by Friends and Family

Michael Wayne Litaker, a retired Chief Warrant Officer of the US Navy, has passed away at the age of 82 in Kannapolis, North Carolina. He died on September 20, 2024, at The Meadows of Rockwell. Born on June 24, 1942, in Cabarrus County, he was the son of the late Lex James Litaker and Ruby G. Bostian Litaker.

A proud veteran, Michael served on the USS Power during the Cuban Missile Crisis and had a distinguished naval career beginning as a sonar technician. He graduated from A.L. Brown High School in 1960 and later earned a BS degree in business from Memphis University.

Tributes from friends and classmates have emerged on social media, reflecting on his life and service. “Prayers for family. Graduated high school with him,” shared Linda Ragan-Lowman. “RIP Mike!” commented JerryJudy Hicks.

Michael leaves behind his wife Liliana, son Michael David Shane Litaker, grandson Adam Litaker, and siblings John Stephen Litaker and Janet Marie Litaker Chance, who cherish his memory. His legacy as a dedicated service member and loving family man will not be forgotten.
