Merrillville, Indiana – Eugene Mryszuk, a beloved father and grandfather, tragically passed away in the early hours of September 18, 2024. Known for his humor, love for sports cars, and the time he spent with his family and dogs, Eugene left a lasting impact on those around him. He was 61 years old.
Eugene’s children, Cristopher, Anna, and Eugene Jr., are now facing the difficult task of arranging his funeral. They are hoping to honor his wish of being buried next to his daughter. However, with no life insurance to cover the costs, the family has launched a fundraiser to gather $20,000 for funeral expenses.
Maulana Whitlock, the organizer of the fundraiser, shared the family’s story and the financial challenges they are facing. "Gene loved cracking jokes and was known for making the best-flavored popcorn," Whitlock shared. The goal is to celebrate his life while ensuring he receives the burial he wished for.
So far, $250 has been raised through five donations, with the largest being a $100 contribution from both Amalfi Diaz and Isabel Orona. The family is grateful for any assistance and continues to seek help from the community to reach their target.
Those who knew Eugene remember him for his joy and humor, and the family hopes to honor his memory with a proper burial.
