Surf City, New Jersey – Dorothy “Dot” E. Bennert, a cherished matriarch and dedicated community volunteer, passed away on September 24, 2024, at the age of 101.
Her legacy of love and service will be remembered fondly by those whose lives she touched.
Born on December 25, 1922, in Jersey City, NJ, Dot lived a remarkable life filled with family and community involvement.
She graduated from West Orange High School and began her career at Monroe Calculating Machine Company.
In 1943, she married Lawrence W. Bennert Jr., and together they created a loving family environment.
After moving to Surf City in 1983, Dot became an active member of her community, volunteering at St. Francis of Assisi Church and serving over 20 years with the Surf City Fire Company #1 Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her two sons, Larry and Thomas, her daughter Patricia, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial Mass will be held on October 11, 2024, at St. Francis of Assisi, where family and friends will gather to honor her remarkable life.
