Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey – David M. Austin, a veteran Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with over three decades of service, tragically passed away on October 1, 2024, after finishing a 12-hour shift.
He was 52 years old.
Austin’s commitment to helping others spanned several departments in the Atlantic and Cape May regions before he joined Egg Harbor Township EMS full-time in 2022.
His sudden death has left a deep impact on the EMS community and those who knew him.
The cause of his death has not yet been disclosed.
In a heartfelt statement, Egg Harbor Township EMS expressed, “Dave possessed a love for helping others, and he truly cared for his patients and provided the best care possible.”
Throughout his career, Austin was known for his quiet demeanor, vast knowledge, and dedication to his profession.
He had also earned his Paramedic certification in Pennsylvania and worked with American Medical Response (AMR) for a brief period.
Condolences poured in from colleagues and friends.
