Caleb Holcomb, Promising Medical Student and Outdoor Enthusiast, Passes Away at 19 in Goshen, Indiana

Goshen, Indiana – The Goshen community is mourning the loss of Caleb Holcomb, a recent graduate of NorthWood High School, who tragically passed away at the young age of 19.

Born on June 10, 2005, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Caleb’s life was filled with ambition, kindness, and a passion for the outdoors.

Though the cause of his death has not been publicly disclosed, his passing has deeply impacted those who knew him.

Caleb, a proud alumnus of NorthWood High School, was pursuing a future in the medical field by attending Ivy Tech Community College.

His dedication to helping others and his strong academic drive earned him the admiration of his peers and instructors alike.

His work as a bag boy at Martin’s Supermarket in Nappanee, as well as his involvement in the Poultry Club with 4H for 10 years, demonstrated his unwavering commitment to community and service.

In the wake of his passing, friends and family have shared tributes and expressed their condolences online.

Jennifer Newcomer remarked, "The Holcombs are a truly exceptional family, always willing to lend a helping hand."

Another friend, Katie Parmlee, shared, "They truly are exceptional. Cannot believe this happened. So unfair."

Visitation will be held from 4-6 pm on Monday, October 7, 2024, at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home in Nappanee, with a memorial service to follow at 6 pm, officiated by Pastor Ed Geleske.

Caleb is survived by his parents, Mark and Suzanne Holcomb, his brother Ridge, and extended family.

He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, love of fly fishing, and dedication to making the world a better place.
