Madisonville, Tennessee – Bridgett Michelle Pearson, a beloved member of the Madisonville community, tragically passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024, after a collision involving a CSX train on Evans Street. She was 44 years old.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), Bridgett was driving her 2015 Infiniti QX6 eastbound on Evans Street when she failed to stop for the railroad crossbars. Her vehicle continued through the crossing and collided with a northbound CSX train. The impact caused her car to skid across the dirt and gravel before coming to a stop off the road. Despite the train crew’s efforts, no injuries were reported among the train personnel.
Bridgett was known for her kind and loving nature. She was an active member of Island Creek Baptist Church, where she dedicated her time as a teacher for the youth class. Her commitment to her church and community made her a cherished figure in the lives of many.
Friends and community members have expressed their condolences and prayers for Bridgett’s family on social media. The accident occurred around 7:56 a.m. at the intersection of Evans Street and Old Slag Road in Vonore. Monroe County authorities confirmed Bridgett’s passing upon arrival at the scene.
