Barry Breslin, Irish Construction Worker, Tragically Killed in Workplace Accident in Perth, Australia

Perth, Australia – Barry Breslin, a 35-year-old Irish construction worker, tragically passed away following a workplace incident in Perth on Thursday, October 3, 2024.

Mr. Breslin, originally from Donegal, Ireland, sustained a serious head injury while working on the off-ramp of the Mitchell Freeway near Warwick Road in Greenwood.

Emergency services quickly responded to the scene, and Mr. Breslin was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital by St John Ambulance, but he sadly passed away shortly after arriving at the hospital.

Breslin, who had lived in Australia for several years, was engaged and leaves behind a young son.

His untimely death has shocked his community, both in Australia and Ireland, where he was a beloved member of a Gaelic football club.

The club issued a heartfelt tribute on social media, remembering Barry as a player who was deeply cherished by his teammates and his community.

His passing marks the tenth death at a construction site in Western Australia this year, with investigations into the incident ongoing.
