Western Wisconsin – A tragic motorcycle accident has claimed the life of 41-year-old Anthony Tibbits over the weekend. The crash occurred on Saturday, September 21, 2024, in Hudson, Wisconsin, while Tibbits was riding on the ramp from State Highway 35 to Interstate 94.
According to authorities, Tibbits lost control of his motorcycle and was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead the following day, Sunday, September 22.
The St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Tibbits was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, which may have contributed to the severity of his injuries. The office continues its investigation into the incident, seeking to determine any other factors that could have led to the crash.
This accident adds to the increasing number of traffic fatalities in Wisconsin this year. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation reports that at least 388 people have died on the state’s roads in 2024, with six of those deaths occurring in St. Croix County alone.
Officials are urging motorcyclists to prioritize wearing helmets and staying vigilant on the roads, as motorcycle accidents continue to be a growing concern in the region.
