Lynchburg, Virginia – Anthony Dwight Davis, a 36-year-old man, was tragically pronounced dead after a shooting incident that occurred early on October 1, 2024.
Local authorities responded to reports of gunfire in the 100 block of Water Gate Drive at approximately 12:37 AM.
Upon arrival, they found Davis with multiple gunshot wounds, and despite efforts to provide emergency medical assistance, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Neighbors reported hearing numerous gunshots, raising concerns about safety in the area.
Dawn Anderson expressed her worries on social media, stating, “Lynchburg, what is happening to you??? I don’t even feel safe coming into Lynchburg during the day.”
As the investigation continues, the LPD is urging anyone with relevant information to contact them to assist in determining the events leading to this tragic incident.
